GRADUATION

graduation form primary school din seem too long ago, where we girls promised each other we'd meet once a week...

Graduation from secondary school felt even closer...how we used to just hang out, played ball, laughed at everything under the sun.

Then came graduation from Victoria college-the sweet life really began then.

Graduation from medical school is drawing closer and closer.....

And so we talked all night about the rest of our lives
Where we're gonna be when we turn 25
I keep thinking times will never change
Keep on thinking things will always be the same
But when we leave this year we won't be coming back
No more hanging out cause we're on a different track
And if you got something that you need to say
You better say it right now cause you don't have another day
Cause we're moving on and we can't slow down
Our memories are playing like a film without sound
And I keep thinking of the night in June
I Didn't know much of love, but it came too soon
And There was me and you, and then it got real blue
Stay at home talkin' on the telephone and
We would get so excited, then we'd get so scared
Laughing at our selves thinking life's not fair
And this is how it feelsAs we go on, we remember
All the times we had together
And as our lives change, come whatever
We will still be, friends forever
So if we get the big jobs and we make the big money
When we look back now, will that joke still be funny?
Will we still remember everything we learned in school?
Still trying to break every single rule
Will little brainy Bobby be the stockbroker man?
Can Heather find a job that won't interfere with her tan?
I keep, I keep thinking that it's not goodbye
Keep on thinking it's a time to fly
And this is how it feels
La, la, la, la; yeah, yeah, yeah
La, la, la, la, we will still be friends forever
Will we think about tomorrow like we think about now?
Can we survive it out there? Can we make it somehow?
I guess I thought that this would never end
And suddenly it's like we're women and men
Will the past be a shadow that will follow us round?
Will these memories fade when I leave this town
I keep, I keep thinking that it's not goodbye
Keep on thinking it's a time to fly

The day din start off too well..coz there was this stinging sun....and whne we were out to play the rain came...:( but the day ended off on a really good note. Meeting up with sweet old friends never fail to work wonders to my body and soul. :)

P.S: i am going to spend the next two weeks working on the sparkle i lost from my eyes.......(Says ser) yes i am..starting tonite..good nitey! :)

I had to write something here tonite.....simply because, like wad nings said, i more day to 9 weeks of slackness.....so dun u think tonite is a night i should commemorate. haha.

9 weeks of slackness? will it really be slack? all the short postings from ophthalmo to ENT to patho and anaesthesia and the AWESOME chrismas and new year break, and of coz not forgetting the mama robbins that is going to see me through this years' festive. The BIG patho pros beginning january.

Gosh...fortunately, da bf will be around that time to add oil for me. :)

Anyways today is the start of the paeds exam. The long case wasn;t too bad afterall, had a bronchitis child with atopy...mother is from China, so we spoke in Chinese...it is during times like this i really thank God i speak good chinese...despite not having done chinese since i graduated from dunman high ( a good 6 years!)....i can safely say my chinese standard is still not too bad (compared to the rest of the medical faculty i think..haha..OKAY, at least for the speaking part.) hahaha....it's a shame, it's a pity how i use to enjoy chinese language so much and would ace it in the exams. I use to be able to write beautiful chinese essays that the chinese teachers will put up on the class board, only to be reduced to an almost "potato" now, coz i realise can;t even write simple words like lan duo (aka lazy). sighs.....

Ok.....i'm going to go to bed soon, my eyes haven't been too obedient these 2 weeks....itchy, red, swollen, i really dunno wad's going on....must be the allergy acting up again.

MCQs and essays tmr! i can do it.....haha, tho i barely studied today...haaha..sighs....ok, i'll leave it to tmr. haa..

Good nite!

Transitions
I like this word- Transition- simple, not such a big word, but sophisticated.
For many, the beginning of each year is filled with resolutions, which after a few weeks, even a few days, get abandoned. How many times have your best intentions failed? haha....I for one am guilty of this, unfortunately :(
Although we are inspired to make a positive change, we may soon lose our motivation and relapse into old habits. Life goes on the way it did before, after a while, we began to realise that there is no significant progress in our life. We soon start to lose enthusiasm and faith in ourselves and others. When the urge to make change occurs, we discount or dismiss it because we do not trust in our ability to follow through.
Hoave you ever recalled childhood? You will certainly remember yourself riding a bike with enthusiasm, learning to play an instrument with passion and heartfelt interest, taking up a sport as if you were best at it, learning maths like a banker counting his incomes. Reflect this upon yourself now, did this heart of passion sustain? The answer would be a definite "no". We seem to lose that willingness to try and excel in greater heights, and that's the pinpoint cause for our failure.
One of the first secrets of change is to recognise that there's a need for one, and that change will imrpove us and bring us to greater heights in all aspects- social, work, academics, financial, character etc. Then, we must trust our ability to make a change and sustain it. If we do not believe, then we cannot even attempt to change and will not discover our abilities to create miracles. On this basis of believing ourselves, we must strat immediately to seek changes which we can create.
Walking on water is certainly miraculous, but walking peacefully on earth is even harder! Changing water to wine is wonderous, but it is more practical to change an unhealthy craving into a healthy desire. Raising the dead is clearly a miraculous demonstration of God's power, but so is healing your tummyache or removing the pain of an earache, or even better, feeling vibrantly healthy so you won't fall sick in the first place. This power to change is within the reach of every person.
A change can occur anytime, at any place, when you least expect it, it may occur The problem we face in making the change is that we doubt our abilities and underestimate our determination to succeed. But the question is, why bother? Thomas Edison took 1000objects for experiment in order to find the perfect solution. If we can take 1000chances to change, shouldn't we go for it? There is definitely a real possibilty that the 1000 changes we go for is likey to fail, but at least by the end of the day, we feel that there is a burning passion in our lives, something that can;t be measured in any form.
We should learn to cherish every moment of our lives, not just make our lives extraordinary, but influence people around us. Every moment is special and unique in its' own way, once the moment has fleeted by, it will never come back again. Likewise, everything we experience is always the first time. If we had missed it, or not pay attention, or get too bogged up with petty selfish emotions, the moment will never come back again.
Take the rubber band for example- they come in all shapes and sizes, but they share a common principle: They must be stretched to be effective. Like rubber bands, personalities, talents and gifts are different. Every individual is different- we're also not effective unless we push ourselves to stretch our minds. If we do not do so, can we implement any change? This is especially true for students, because in this 21st century, the century of technology, woking smart, not hard is the best way to succeed.
Transitions- remind us to seize each and every day and cherish them dearly. We must feel afresh everyday and walk aorund your school/workplace with eyes full of hope. This will push us to scale greater heights and seek new grounds.

Look at me You may think you see Who I really am But you’ll never know me. Every day, is as if I play apart, Now I seeIf I wear a mask. I can fool the world But I can not fool my heart. Who is that girl I see, Staring straight back at me? When will my reflection show Who I am inside? I am now in a world where I have to hide my heart and what I believe in. But somehowI will show the world what’s inside my heart and be loved for who I am Who is that girl I see Staring straight back at me? Why is my reflection Someone I don’t know? Must I pretend that i’m Someone else for all time? When will my reflection show Who I am inside? There’s a heart that must be free to fly that burns with a need to know the reason why. Why must we all conceal What we thinkHow we feel Must there be a secret me I’m forced to hide? I won’t pretend that i’m Someone else For all time When will my reflections show Who I am inside? When will my reflections show Who I am inside?
